Lunge Hip Flexor Stretch
You are going into a lunge position. Your front leg is at a 90-degree angle in the hip. Then you tighten or engage your abdominal and glute muscles, then bring your hip forward. You are looking for a stretch in the front of the leg/thigh and hip with the knee on the ground. This is an excellent low back pain stretch. You will see the picture to the left is the progression to make the stretch more difficult. You MUST be able to do the first stretch with ease! Do 2-3 sets on each side alternating back and forth, holding for about 45 seconds.

#2 – Lunge Hip Flexor Stretch With Arm

Lunge Hip Flexor Stretch With Arm
You are in a lunge position where you are kneeling on the left knee. You will bring the left arm over head to intensify the stretch. Tighten up the abdominal and glutes muscles, then bring the hips forward. We are focusing on the stretch a little bit deeper towards the back area and target the hip flexor muscles. You will do 2-3 sets on each side, alternating back and forth holding for 45 seconds.

#3 – Hamstring Stretch

Back Friendly Hamstring Stretch
You are on your back with a strap/towel around your right foot. Tighten up the abdominal and glutes muscles then, bring the right leg up by pulling with your arms until you feel a stretch on the back of your right leg. Keep the left leg straight on the ground and keep your head on the ground. You will do 2-3 sets on each side, alternating back and forth holding for 45 seconds.
